Paul Smith + Worldwide FM
Paul Smith and award-winning radio station, Worldwide FM, have partnered to host a mini-series of jazz sessions every Sunday throughout October. The Paul Smith flagship store, No.9 Albemarle Street, hosted a pop-up recording studio for the artists, as well as a one-off “in conversation” between renowned DJ, Gilles Peterson, and designer, Paul Smith.
Together, Gilles & Paul selected an exciting line-up of established & upcoming jazz artists for a new mini-series entitled “Sunday Sessions” broadcast on Worldwide FM radio station and YouTube channel. See the line up of sessions below.
Session One - Jordan Rakei
Singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist, Jordan Rakei opens with a series of tracks from his new album 'What We Call Life’.
Session One - George Riley
Soul singer George Riley performs an eclectic blend of jazz, trip-hop and electronic sounds.
Session Two - Tyson McVey
Tyson McVey, stemming from a musically talented family, provides an effortlessly cool & smoky vibe as the first act to this session.
Session Two - Sarathy Korwar
The US-born, Indian-raised, Sarathy Korwar performs his unique Indo Jazz sounds interjected with elements of electronic music & hip-hop.
Session Three - Secret Night Gang
Secret Night Gang perform an instrumental jazz funk session.
Session Three - Gilles Peterson
Paul Smith & Gilles Peterson discuss musical influences, decades of fashion & life achievements in a unique "in conversation".
