Paul Smith’s Denim Fit Guide
A good pair of jeans is among the most useful items of clothing a person can own, but finding the right pair is far from simple. To make things easier, we’ve created a guide to our range of jeans, and invited Paul to share some of his thoughts on denim.
PAUL SMITH ON DENIM
I started a jeans collection in the 1990s, and right from the beginning it was always a slightly different approach.
SLIM-FIT
Our slimmest fit, with a narrow thigh and gentle taper through the knee, down towards a neat hem. As with all our jeans, they have a medium rise, designed to sit slightly lower than the natural waist, for maximum comfort and a classic look.
All our Slim-Fit jeans have a zip fly.
STANDARD-FIT
Based on the cut of classic 20th century jeans, our Standard fit is Paul’s personal favourite, with a straight leg that’s neither slim nor baggy. A medium rise rounds out their perfectly balanced shape.
All our Standard jeans have a button fly.
RELAXED-FIT
Our roomiest cut, these have considerably more volume in the seat, thigh, and lower leg than our other styles, giving them a full silhouette. This is coupled with the usual medium rise.
All our Relaxed jeans have a zip fly.
TAPERED-FIT
Our most popular style of jeans, these have a touch more room than the Slim-Fit, but still with a trim silhouette. Again, they have a medium rise, which as well as offering comfort allows them to be dressed up or down.
All our Tapered-Fit jeans have a zip fly.
