Introducing Merrymaker
Our range of home fragrances continues to grow with Merrymaker – our first ever festive candle.
Each of our home fragrances is designed to conjure a particular image or atmosphere. For our first ever festive candle – the limited-edition Merrymaker – the atmosphere we wanted to evoke was a convivial one. We had in mind time spent with loved ones: dining, celebrating, playing board games and generally making merry. It’s a candle that should be lit at the centre of the table as you sit down to eat, acting as a focal point for the unfolding festivities.
The inspiration for the scent itself comes from one of Paul’s own Christmas rituals. Each year, Paul would bring bundles of pine branches into his Floral Street shop in Covent Garden, hanging them around the space, allowing their rich fragrance to fill the air. He found that everyone who entered the shop would instantly be put in a festive frame of mind by the smell of pine, creating a magical atmosphere.
Merrymaker’s glass container – intended to be kept and reused once the candle has gone – is a rich purple colour, with a lid in a complementary shade of red.
Smells like: A warm blend of natural pine branches and the comforting waxy aroma of polished furniture.
Memory: Paul’s festive season rituals. Gathering fresh pine branches to decorate shops and home, bringing friends and family together.
Notes: Fir balsam, mahogany, cardamom.
