A Pair of Bentwood Ply Chairs, Designed by Bruno Weil for Thonet, USA in the 1950’s. The Pairs ergonomically-shaped backrest and scooped seat make the Pair as comfortable as it is eye-catching. The Pair was exceptionally well designed – Inspired by Charles Eames Ply Chairs. Thonet has long been known for its craftsmanship and considered design. The company’s patented wood bending process was an important milestone in creating attractive, yet affordable furniture. Founded in Austria during the 19th Century. Thonet later expanded to the United States in 1941. Since then, many influential designers including Mies Van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer have collaborated with Thonet to produce iconic chairs, tables and interiors alike. Original labels to base. Upholstered in Paul Smith Maharam Concord Stripe in tones of red, orange and taupe.
